A place to unwind, meet, network, and close the deal.

The Room is our members' club: leather chairs, a full bar, and more than 400 cigars from our walk-in humidor. Members come to work and take meetings, catch the big game, or simply slow down with a good cigar in good company.

One of the very few rooms in Delaware where you can light a fine cigar indoors with a well-poured drink in hand.

What to expect

Your First Visit

No annual membership is needed to experience The Room. Here is how a first visit works.

Two ways to visit for a day, no membership needed, subject to availability. Like our memberships, each is named for a leaf of the tobacco plant. Pick one at the counter.

Start at the counter
Come to Camden Cigars during shop hours and ask about The Room. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability, and we recommend calling ahead or planning your visit online.
Bring your ID
Everyone must be 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. You'll sign a one-time form that we keep on file for future visits.
Choose your visit
Seco for the rest of the day, or Volado for three hours. The minimum is spent on cigars, and our team will help you choose them.
Settle in
Take a seat in The Room, order from the bar, and enjoy your cigar in good company.

Coming as a member's guest? You'll sign the same one-time form, and you stay with your host.

House etiquette

Dress code: smart or business casual wear, befitting a fine cigar lounge.
Discretion, respect & good company. Discussions are healthy; arguments are not.
Kindly, no photos or videos in the speakeasy.
Outside cigars are welcome with a cutting fee. No outside alcohol, food or music.
Cigars only: no cigarettes or other products.
Please drink responsibly and plan a safe ride home.

Sunday	12 pm – 6 pm

Good to know

Up to six Seco or Volado visits per person each year.
Honor Wednesday: Volado is a $25 minimum for military and first responders.
The bar is open when a bartender is on duty.
Evenings and members' events are for members and their guests, except the game nights listed under Open to guests, which welcome Seco and Volado visitors.

Winter hours, January through February: Monday – Saturday 9 am – 7 pm, Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. Hours are subject to change.

Our Story

2014
Camden Cigars began in 2014 on South Dupont Highway in Delaware, where the humidor was a closet and the shelves filled one patron at a time. A notebook sat on the counter, guests wrote what they hoped we'd carry, and we found it for them. Word of mouth did the rest.
2020
The March 2020 lockdown closed that location for good. For a year we had no storefront, but we never stopped. We cared for the collection ourselves and looked after the regulars who built this place with us.
2021
On March 11, 2021, one year to the day after Delaware shut down, we opened at 370 Walmart Drive, across from Camden Liquor & Wine, our family's shop since 2010. The new home came with a walk-in humidor holding 400+ varieties for every palate.
Today
Five years of due diligence brought The Room At Camden Cigars, a private members-only lounge and speakeasy, one of few places in Delaware to enjoy a cigar indoors with a drink at the bar. It's our passion project and our office, my brother's and mine.

Questions

Do I need to be a member to visit The Room?

No annual membership is needed. Walk in during shop hours for Seco, the rest of the day with a $50 minimum cigar purchase, or Volado, three hours with a $30 minimum, subject to availability. Seco and Volado together are limited to six visits per person each year; after that, we'd love to welcome you as a member. You can also come as a member's guest.

How do I become a member?

Visit, meet our team and ask about Capa, Ligero and Viso. When you're ready, we'll give you an invitation code to request the application, and our team reviews every application. A current member can refer you, too.

What is an invitation code?

It's how we send the application to people we've met, or who were referred by a member. Enter it under Membership and we'll email you the application. No code yet? Leave your details there, or simply stop by.

Why is membership by approval?

The Room is a private cigar club, so membership is by application and our team reviews each one.

How much are Capa, Ligero and Viso?

All three are billed annually. Pricing and details are shared in person: ask at the counter or call the shop at (302) 922-8111.

Do you offer company memberships?

Yes. With Capa, up to four named members from one company share a humidified locker with the company's nameplate and a monthly cigar credit, with access anytime The Room is open. It's made for hosting clients. Each member is approved individually, and Capa is limited to six companies.

What should I wear?

Smart or business casual wear, befitting a fine cigar lounge.

Can I bring my own cigars or drinks?

Outside cigars are welcome with a cutting fee. Members may bring in a meal or order from local restaurants for their table. Outside alcohol and music are not permitted, and Seco and Volado visits don't include outside food.

Can I bring a guest?

Members can: up to four guests with Capa or Ligero and two with Viso, and guests stay with their host. Seco and Volado memberships are individual, so each guest purchases their own.

Should I call ahead?

Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability, and we recommend calling or texting ahead at (302) 922-8111, especially if you'd like a drink from the bar.

Can I plan a private gathering?

Planning a larger party, a client meeting or a celebration? Ask us in person or call the shop, and we'll plan it with you.
